The Problem
Users frequently experience frustration with the current Hopespring Cancer Support Centre website due to its unintuitive navigation, cluttered layout, and readability issues. These shortcomings impede access to crucial resources and support, highlighting the urgent need for a redesign to enhance usability and accessibility.
The Solution
A website redesign to transform and guide user frustrations into seamless support experiences.
The Process
Site mapping analysis shows that users often find website navigation confusing and inefficient
The initial navigation bar
The initial navigation posed numerous challenges, leading to a frustrating user experience. For instance:
Users struggled to locate desired information or resources
Relevant content was obscured by irrelevant labels
The menu structure lacked clarity
After the first iteration
Menu labels were made clearer
The number of menu items was condensed
A prominent call-to-action was added for immediate access to the donation page.
However, during user testing, it became evident that many pages remained buried and difficult to locate. Moreover, the sheer volume of pages under each menu item was overwhelming, with some pages rarely accessed.
The final iteration
Through multiple iterations of testing and feedback incorporation, further improvements were made:
The number of menu items was reduced from 7 to 4
Pages were trimmed down from 32 to 29
Menu labels were refined for clarity
The navigation bar was streamlined for enhanced usability
